Editorial Policy
How content on Rowing Machine Nerd is researched, written, reviewed, and kept up to date.
Last updated: June 2026
Rowing Machine Nerd exists to give rowers clear, accurate, and genuinely useful guidance. This page explains the standards behind everything we publish.
Who writes our content
Content is created by Jordan Lockwood (BSc, CPT), a certified personal trainer (CPT) and sports-science graduate with more than a decade of experience coaching indoor rowing. You can read more on our about page.
How we research and write
- Training and technique guidance is based on established sports-science principles, coaching experience, and widely accepted best practice.
- When we cite specific figures or studies - for example, calorie expenditure data - we link to the original source so you can verify it.
- Product reviews are research-based: verified specifications, independent expert reviews, and the consensus of verified-owner feedback, with any genuine hands-on experience clearly noted. We aim to be honest about both strengths and weaknesses, and we say when a product isn't worth your money.
Accuracy and corrections
We work hard to get things right, but no one is infallible. If you spot an error, please tell us at jordan@rowingmachinenerd.com and we'll review and correct it promptly. Articles show a "last updated" date, and we revise older content as guidance and products change.
Editorial independence
We use affiliate links and may earn commissions (see our affiliate disclosure), but commercial relationships never dictate our opinions or recommendations. Editorial decisions are made independently of any advertiser or affiliate partner.
Not medical advice
Our content is for general informational and educational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before beginning a new exercise program, especially if you have an injury or health condition.
